We Love Gaming, So Should You!

We haven’t forgotten about you tumblr…

Marshall is the lead in his department at work and has been pretty much working mandatory OT everyday. He has been super exhausted and has been trying to catch up on some sleep.

I have been working my butt off at work too and will be moving to a new store in a slightly better position than I currently have. The hours at the store will be different then what I am used to and I will have a lot of training to do before I even begin to tackle the schedule adjustment.

This past weekend was EXTRA LIFE! We had our 24 hours of gaming event at Neverland Games and it was a hit! Our team hit our goal of $500 dollars and we were so excited! We received an extremely generous donation from an anonymous person and we had donations from our friends and family and we could NOT have done this without you guys! So thank YOU!

Aside from having to work the entire weekend, I also had to attend a work party. It pretty much became MANDATORY. So I had to complete my 24 hours of gaming last Thursday/Friday before hand. 

Lost Boys Radio is sad to admit that the new episode will be late yet again. Between work, catching up sleep, and me being SICK, we’ve had to postpone the episode until my voice clears up and you can understand me. We promise to do something AWESOME in the next episode so as usual, Stay Tuned.

Sorry for not keeping this up to date more often. The tumblr app does not have a version compatible with my tablet and the app is buggy on my phone. I hardly get a chance to just sit down at my laptop, so yes, I have neglected our tumblr page for a little bit.

We are not dead. Just neglectful. Don’t look at me like that. Seriously. >_>

Episode 10 is slowly creeping up on us! We will be announcing both the Maliswag winners and the Zombicide winners in this episode. We are super excited about all of the entries we have received but we wanted to let you guys know that we would love to see a few more entries! There is still time to get them in!

Also we are thinking about a new shirt, anyone have any suggestions or ideas?

Hey there Tumblr Buds,

We have been working hard on episode 9! It is supposed to post Monday as long as there aren’t any… issues. As you know, we have the Zombicide contest going on (DETAILS are in episode 8) and we will be announcing the winners in episode 10! SOME ADDITIONAL NEWZ… we are also having a giveaway in episode 9! We are giving away some AWESOME Malifaux stuff and the winners of this contest will also be announced in episode 10! Who doesn’t want to win some free stuff!?

Marshall played Hordes with Timdark at our LGS this week. This was my favorite shot of their game because Karen is right there, creeping in the background!

Been working hard on Episode 8! It was pushed to post today because of the holiday on Monday! We hope everyone had a fun Labor Day and you will be seeing our new episode sometime in the near future!

Evil Baby Orphanage We backed this on Kickstarter. It is a fun card game by Wyrd Games and I wasn’t really on board at first, but I absolutely love it! We got to do a demo game on Day 0 of Gen Con after Marshall picked up his GM pass! We played a 6 player game and babies were flying around the circle like you wouldn’t believe!

Anyway, Wyrd actually had copies for sale at Gen Con! What was even more awesome is that if you Kickstarted it, you could pick up your copy at the booth! We were able to learn how to play and even were able to pick up our game early, all the while the rest of our Kickstarter goodies are still going to get shipped to us! Woo! :D

Tsuro of the Seas It is such an awesome game! It was the ONE game I had to buy while we were at GenCon. The Calliope booth was decently busy but I was able to get my copy, hassle free, and they even threw in some Tsuro of the Seas pins!

We didn’t get a chance to test it out, play wise, until we got back into town and were settled in for a few days. However, I did rip the plastic wrap off as soon as I got into the hotel from the convention so I could check out all of the goodies. It came with the standard rice paper Tsuro Art, which I love! The rules are not ridiculously long but they are different from regular Tsuro. The new board is amazing and has a beautiful picture of one of the daikaiju across it. There are plenty of wake tiles and this new edition of Tsuro also includes one gold and one blue die.

Rules are a little different. Afterall, you aren’t a dragon soaring across the skies! You are a boat, or a captain of a boat, and you must navigate the seas and hope that you don’t run into any daikaiju (monsters)! Starting up the game, placement of your boat, and placement of the wake tiles is the same as usual. What is different is that there are numbers on two sides of the grid that is the Tsuro board. You roll your blue and gold die and look at the gold and blue numbers on the board to see where you place the starting daikaiju, before the game starts, which will vary depending on the number of players. You also roll to see if the daikaiju move at the beginning of your turn. They move on a combined roll of 7, 8 and 9! If you roll one of these totals, you roll a dice for each daikaiju on the board. Sometimes they will move and sometimes a new one will come into play! If they land on your boat, you’re sunk. If they fly off the board, they are gone. If they crash into one another than one of them is destroyed! It got a little crazy with the daikaiju!

The new element in this secondary version of Tsuro, makes it harder to strategize. It adds a huge element of chaos to the game and it makes it more fun with more players! I would definitely recommend this as a party game or a game for families! The 7, 8 and 9 totals are easily rolled and there is usually alot of daikaiju movement so just be aware that you will be moving those crazy creatures all over the place!

Remember, the last boat standing is the winner, but the daikaiju can easily win!
